Cincinnati Bengals Team Notes

Marvin Lewis has assembled a talented coaching staff and pushed his players to get into shape. There are 25 new players on the 53-man roster, compared to opening day 2002. Lewis, in his first five games as a head coach on any level, though, has showed some inexperience in game management.

He could have used his three timeouts better at the end of regulation at Buffalo, where the Bengals lost in overtime. As a defensive-oriented coach, he wants to play a field-position game and is beginning to assemble players who can execute his vision.
