Corey Dillon's fuse has been burning for some time, and today he appears to
Dillon told reporters in the Bengals locker room this afternoon that he wants
out of Cincinnati. He spent nearly half-an-hour with reporters, including
BengalsInsider.com's Kevin Goheen, and at one point stated that he wanted to be
traded to Dallas. Dillon was quoted as saying "I want out! Trade me to Dallas!"
Initially, Dillon spoke only with Bengals employee Geoff Hobson and Dayton
Daily News reporter Chick Ludwig. BengalsInsider.com will link all of their
stories via our
newswire as they publish them.
Dillon seems to be frustrated by his less-dominant role with the team in 2003
and is undoubtedly upset with injuries that have plagued him, as well as trade
rumors and media criticism. As Dillion comes back from a groin injury, he is
getting the ball less frequently and is visibly upset.
With the Bengals enjoying new life under new head coach Marvin Lewis, the
biggest question around the outburst is "Why now?". Kevin will have more insight
here later today and Bengals fans are talking about it now on the
Bengals Insider forums...
