How Acquired: Drafted by the Patriots in the second round of the 2003 NFL Draft (45th overall).
Career Notes: Mostly playing on special teams since his arrival in New England, Johnson finished the 2004 season tied for fourth in the AFC with a 24.8-yard kickoff return average.
Led all AFC kickoff returners with a 28.2-yard average in 2003.
Personal: Bethel Johnson was born February 11, 1979. Raised with four sisters by their single mother, Johnson bought his mother a house and a new car after signing his first NFL contract. Attended Corsicana High (TX) where he played both football and baseball. Attended Texas A&M University where he majored in agricultural development. |
