Drafted by the Patriots in the second round of the 2001 NFL draft (48th overall).
Personal:
Born Matthew Charles Light June 23, 1978, the son of William and Marilyn Light. Hometown Greenville, Ohio. Attended Greenville (Ohio) High School where he earned all-state Second-team Division II honors at linebacker. Played guard, tackle and tight end on offense, as well as, linebacker on defense. Participated in track lettering and earning all-conference and all-country honors. Was an industrial technology major at Purdue.
