Cornerback Curome Cox was signed to the team’s practice squad on December 1, 2004. Cox, 6-1, 199-pounds, was out of football since being released by the Falcons in the final cutdown of training camp (9/6). A rookie out of Maryland, he played in 47 career games making 45 starts at cornerback while raking up 165 total tackles (129 solo), 10 interceptions and two sacks. Cox was an honorable mention All-ACC selection his senior year after finishing the season sixth in the conference averaging 10 passes defensed a game, while making 40 tackles (32 solo). He was a first-team All-Washington Catholic Athletic Conference selection at Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C. Additionally, Cox earned All-America honors by PrepStar and honorable mention All-America honors from USA Today. He was born Feb. 28, 1981.
