Eric Ghiaciuc Profile
The Kansas City Chiefs have signed free agent C Eric Ghiaciuc, the
team announced on Thursday. Ghiaciuc (6-4, 303) has appeared in 48 games (42
starts) during his four-year career with Cincinnati (2005-08). He originally
entered the NFL as a fourth-round choice (119th overall) of Cincinnati in the
2005 NFL Draft.
The Oxford, Michigan native started his final 35 games at Central Michigan,
blocking for a 1,000-yard rusher each of his last three seasons. Ghiaciuc earned
all-state honors in football and won the state championship in wrestling at
Oxford High School.
Ghiaciuc should get a chance to compete for the center job against incumbent
starter Rudy Niswanger, who recently signed his one-year restricted free
agent tender.
